I’m Dr. Emem Nkanga, Doctor of Nursing Practice. I believe that everyone deserves a personalized and compassionate approach to mental health care. I bring over 20 years of experience in healthcare, with a focused dedication to psychiatry over the past 4 years. I have committed my career to enhancing the health of individuals and communities. My passion lies in supporting mental health and emotional well-being.

I obtained all my degrees, including the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). I specialize in treating children ages 10 and above, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. These are individuals with a range of illnesses, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, insomnia, severe stress, anger issues, and more.

My approach to care is centered on listening, collaboration, and respect. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns. I combine my clinical expertise with a compassionate, nonjudgmental, nurturing, patient-centered approach to develop thoughtful medication management plans, and I collaborate closely with therapists and other providers when appropriate. Effective care is not one-size-fits-all; I tailor treatment to fit your unique needs and goals.

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming and open conversation. We will discuss your concerns, symptoms, history, and treatment goals. I will listen, take time to answer your questions, and begin developing a plan that feels right for you. My priority is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning. I am here to support you on your journey toward improved mental and emotional well-being, so you can live a more balanced and fulfilling life.
